Robert W. "Bob" Phillips, 58 of Carthage, passed away at 5:30 P.M. Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage. Robert was born January 12, 1955, the son of Robert and Louise (Land) Phillips in Carthage, Illinois. He attended Carthage High School graduating in 1974. On August 23, 1980, he was united in marriage to Julie Ann Murphy at the Ferris Christian Church in Ferris, Illinois. Robert was a truck driver for over 25 years and had worked for USF Holland for the last 19 years. Robert was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working in the yard. Robert is survived by his wife, Julie, of Carthage, four children, Shilo Brakey of Kansas, Brooke (Josh) Lathrop of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Ashley Phillips of Carthage, and Timothey Phillips of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; a brother Bob (Charlotte) Loter of Polk City, Iowa; three sisters, Margie (John) Hillgartner of Blue Grass, Iowa, Shirley (Russell) Parsano and Sharon (Roy) Rayburn, both of La Harpe, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents.
